Erica’s family claims her boyfriend, Chris, has brainwashed her into believing he is the ultimate, perfect human being. They say Chris has convinced Erica that she and the world need to adopt his ideologies in order to be saved. Erica’s family claims Chris’ ideologies consist of humans completely rejecting traditional societal norms, money being obsolete, not working a job, and families living in communes relying on the barter system. But, the greatest concern Erica’s family says they have is her lifestyle with Chris, which they claim is her being happily homeless with her children while living in a polyamorous triad with another woman, Charnell, who is 7 months pregnant by Chris, and calling themselves the “First Poly Family of The Bible Belt,” where Chris has labeled himself the “King.” Erica and Chris both say Erica’s family is just being closed-minded and cannot accept anything different than a “classic, perfect picket fence” existence.
